Our products are the fruits of uncompromising research and development. The "Nakatsugawa Technical Center" has an environment that copes with various kinds of testing for the world's automobile makers. With electromagnetic waves as the main research theme, the center improves the quality of each product. On the other hand, the "Acoustics Development Center" aims to reproduce sounds that appeal to human sensibilities, and is engaged in making sounds not only for automobiles but also for the household. We actively promotes theevaluation and research of electromagnetic compatibility(EMC). It measures unnecessary electromagnetic waves from electronic devices and evaluates product immunity against electromagnetic waves from extraneous sources in order to realize safer　products with　higher performance. The grounds make possible the testing of the reception of everything from millimeter wave rader, satellite broadcasts to audio products in vehicles under operation. We established various testing courses, which allow testing of many different things such as tracking and receiving sensitivity while vehicles are being driven. It promotes development of ITS and multimedia equipment. In response to the requirement to shorten the time required for product development and to lower costs, as measures to support EMC planning in the early design stages, we developed a noise visualization system that visualizes noise invasion routes within printed-circuit boards of extraneous electromagnetic waves. The system attracted attention from various fields. With professional level recording equipment capable of high-accuracy digital recording and editing, the control room, which is attached to the studio and determines the target sound quality, is used for sound processing, live performance recording and CD burning. In the large-scale anechoic space with a radius of 2.5 meters, where glass fiber wool completely covers its walls, various measurements of speakers and noise analysis of precision mechanical components are conducted. The final step in reproducing sound is various tests conducted in the actual environment of a car's interior. An automatic measuring system inside the car measures the sound characteristics with high accuracy, which makes the final audio adjustments. The room with a short reverberation time is for stringent auditory evaluation of audio components such as speakers and amplifiers. It aims to reproduce the ultimate sound. Speakers for home audio systems are subjected to comprehensive listening evaluations in this theater equipped with a large-scale screen monitor, on everything from two channel to DVD 5.1 channel systems.
